BABA LILA

Baba Lila was more than a neighbour growing up; she was another grandmother figure to me.

Born in 1943 in Živinice, Bosnia and Herzegovina, she is known throughout the entire neighbourhood as the sweetest and most caring lady.

There was something truly special about having her so close by. Her warm and welcoming personality made her feel like an extension of the family rather than a neighbour.

Her kitchen was always filled with freshly baked sweets, made with patience and care and her authentic homemade preserves and jams. It always told a story of tradition and love. Having Baba Lila in my childhood made it so much better.

She is the SWEET Baba.
